AKUA Mind & Body is a fully accredited and licensed mental health, substance use and addiction treatment center with locations throughout the Sacramento Region, Los Angeles & Orange County Region, and San Diego Region. At AKUA Mind & Body, we incorporate the mind, body, and spirit into our holistic approach while blending clinical excellence and an integrative East-meets-West therapeutic process. AKUA’s integrative treatment approach combines Western evidenced-based medication-assisted treatment with holistic Eastern traditions to provide the highest quality of care to our clients. AKUA provides individualized treatment to adult men and women who have been diagnosed with a mental health and/or a substance abuse disorder. It is not uncommon for an individual to enter treatment primarily for addiction, but soon be diagnosed with a mental illness or vice versa. This condition is known as a co-occurring disorder, formerly termed as dual diagnosis. In this case, it is essential for both the disorders to be treated simultaneously for the individual to fully heal. AKUA Mind & Body employs a multidisciplinary treatment team that includes admission intake counselors, therapists, dietitians, and addiction medicine physicians who work together to provide an integrated approach to treatment for both substance use disorder and mental illness.
